Pakistan fast bowlers Ahmed Daniyal and Shahnawaz Dahani have been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against Zimbabwe, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced. Both players will return to Pakistan for rehabilitation as they recover from their respective injuries.
To bolster the squad ahead of the series-deciding third ODI on Thursday, Abbas Afridi and Jahandad Khan have been called up. Their inclusion aims to strengthen Pakistan’s pace attack for the crucial match. Both Ahmed Daniyal and Shahnawaz Dahani failed to appear in a single contest against Zimbabwe.
Ahmed Daniyal suffered a hamstring injury, while Shahnawaz Dahani sustained a left ankle injury during a training session on Sunday.
Following initial scans and clinical assessments, their injuries have been confirmed. Ahmed Daniyal and Shahnawaz Dahani will now return to Lahore, where they will report to the National Cricket Academy.
There, they will undergo a rehabilitation program and adhere to prescribed recovery protocols to ensure a safe and effective return to competitive cricket.
T20I Squad Update
Meanwhile, Amir Jamal will remain part of the squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe in place of Daniyal, ensuring depth and continuity in the team’s bowling unit.
